Windy

Windy
acrylic on 9 x 7 canvas
(work in progress)
Alex and I went to SAM (Seattle Art Museum) this past weekend and I saw a painting done by an Aborigine artist. It was super cool and I wanted to do something like it.

The brush strokes demonstrate what I think the wind would look like. It's tinted a light blue and I might go over it in a darker blue but we'll see :)

I don't really plan any of my paintings so I like this form of painting. It's free formed and free flowing.

I want to do another painting soon! Hopefully a really big canvas (if can afford) and maybe the ocean?!

  1. When I was in Australia, I got the chance to observe aborigine artists while they painted. They use very basic shapes and colors, but the way they weave it all together is just stunning. If I remember correctly, a lot of an aborigine artists' art is inspired by his/her life story, and how it speaks to them. I'm so glad you're blogging Christine! Keep up the awesome work!
